Local mental health groups receive millions in federal funding
Ottawa County Community Mental Health will get nearly 2 million and Allegan County Mental Health Services about 4 million in grants funded by the American Rescue Plan and the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic Expansion Grants. Sen. Stabenow and Sen. Blunt backed the program noting urgent needs in Michigan communities. The funds will support mental health and substance abuse services locally.

Area schools undergo sweeping turnover in principals and superintendents
In Holland area districts seven new principals will join the ranks this fall as retirements of several superintendents ripple through. Hamilton middle and high schools will see Rick Frens and Ben Bandfield leave for superintendent roles in Schoolcraft and Lawton, respectively, while Liz Morehouse Mitch Bosch will helm both Zeeland middle and high schools.
