Holland plans for the Quarterline Flats complex at 1399 East 16th Street were approved again by the Holland Planning Commission on August 1 after city officials found notices to some nearby residents within 300 feet had been omitted. The three lot project had previously been approved, but only one lot’s notices were sent.

Grand Haven man sentenced for sexual abuse of a child
Robert Lee Williams III 59 pleaded guilty to first degree criminal sexual conduct and possession of child sexually abusive material in Ottawa County Circuit Court. He was sentenced Monday to a minimum 25 years. The case involved years of abuse and dozens of images of young children found on a computer. Williams’ history as a sex offender influenced the sentencing and prosecutors regard him as a danger to the community.
