Hillside High School varsity basketball, led by coach Jack Sayer, widened its lead in the Watchung Conference with home and road wins. Notable performances came from Maddalena and Hermann, while Lipson scored 25 against Clark in a 76-6 rout. Hillside improved to 10-1 in league play as the Comets defeated Springfield 54-45 and Clark 76-6.
