Widow says two Communist agents demand ransom for POW son

EVANSTON Ill Sept 30 1974 widow Jean Macdonald says two men claiming to be Communist agents demanded from 25000 to 50000 dollars for proof her son Lt George D Macdonald is alive and to begin negotiations for his release. She met them in Mexico City after he was shot down Dec 21 1972 over Laos. They showed a photo of a man she identified as her son but would not let her keep it. The Rev Paul Lindstrom who arranged the meetings says the men may be tied to a Southeast Asia diplomatic mission or act for monetary gain. The U S government has discounted reports of POWs still held in Southeast Asia. Mrs Macdonald hopes to meet with President Ford and Kissinger for help.
