Maddox Campaigns Tirelessly In Alabama
American Independent Party candidate Lester Maddox campaigned in Alabama, greeting safety patrols at Glen Iris Baptist School, playing hymns, and praising God while blasting Carter and Ford. He denounced Nixon and Wallace, toured Birmingham areas, and noted he would be on ballots in about 20 states, seeking broader support despite limited debate exposure.
