Greensboro Fire Demolishes Hotels and Homes
A major Greensboro blaze yesterday afternoon destroyed the McAdoo hotel and damaged several adjacent residences on Washington, Elm, and West Lee streets. Three people were injured, including Loumie Albright and Charles Denny, with total property losses estimated above 150000. Insurance covered much of the structures, and the origin remains undetermined, with theories ranging from a cigarette to a faulty elevator wire.
