A negro couple Cal and Bert Chambers faced disorderly conduct charges over a domestic dispute. Bert was fined costs, Cal acquitted.

Trial of the Salisbury wreck case nears end
In Rowan Superior Court Engineer Tankersley of the Southern railway his fireman Arthur Kelly and flagman Clyde Wilson faced manslaughter charges over the November 24 wreck in Salisbury yards that killed two men. Kelly was non suited this morning after motions by his counsel. The defense will present only character witnesses and rests. The case heads to the jury later today.

Forty-Four Roanoke Crew Missing After Sinking
