Two Killed in Seaboard Train Wreck Near Henderson

Guilty verdict for Tankersley in 1915 wreck case
In Salisbury on May 12 the jury found Engineer Tankersley guilty of manslaughter in the 1915 Southern railway wreck that killed two men, while Flagman Wilson was acquitted. The court denied a new trial and set an appeal bond at $1,000. judgment expected early next week.

Garner Dies Prominent Railroad President at 65
William A. Garner president of the Chicago and Northwestern Railway died at his Winnie Beach summer home after a period of ill health. He served 38 years with the railroad, rising from telegraph operator to president, after earlier roles as assistant superintendent and general manager. He was born in Garner, Illinois, and was 65 years old.
