Archdale-Trinity Pilot Club honors Handicapped Worker
Awards presented at Trinity United Methodist Church Hut honored Robert Gray as Handicapped Worker of the Year and Mrs Kenneth Myers as Pilot of the Year. Mayor Henry York presented Gray’s award. Gray owns Gray's Jewelers in Archdale. Other nominees included Berrows Taylor Davis Farlowe Gray Killen. Myers received her award from Mrs Clarence Peace. William Farlowe spoke on county government and education funding. New officers for the coming year were elected at the meeting.

Hand Of Friendship Tea Given By Local ABWA
About 60 people attended the Hand of Friendship tea in the Sky Room at Top-of-the-Mart hosted by the Furni ture Capital chapter of ABWA. Mrs. Lamar, president, and Miss Hutchins, a 1970 scholarship recipient, greeted guests and introduced a reception line. The event featured a comedy skit Just The Facts Maam and highlighted ABWA goals, scholarship programs, and national reach with more than 900 chapters and 55,000 members. Refreshments were served by the tea committee and Mrs. Moore.

Children Art Class Planned at YWCA
A five week children's art class for boys and girls aged 7 to 16 begins Tuesday March 30 at the YWCA, 112 Gatewood Ave. instructor Mrs Eugene Braxton with experience teaching at the YWCA since moving to High Point From Lettoir. The course teaches watercolors oils pastels and crayon with an art exhibit at the YWCA at session end. Register at the YWCA or call for more information.
