Woman, Christy Executed in 1914 Murder Case
Ida Ball Warren and Sam Christy were sentenced to death for the 1914 murder of G. J. Warren in Winston-Salem. The case involved a plan to kill Warren, move the body in a trunk, and sink it in Muddy Creek, with Clifford Stonestreet as an accessory after the fact and a later acquiescence by Mrs Warren. Strong testimony linked Mrs Warren to the plot, including chloroform attempts and staged disguises.
