Adams-Millis Reports Gains in Sales for 1974 Quarter
Earnings dipped due to inflation and Fabrics Division losses. James H. Millis said second quarter sales rose to 22.38 million from 20.69 million a year earlier, and first half sales jumped to 42.19 million from 38.04 million. Net quarterly earnings were 180,535, or 8 cents a share, versus 572,828 or 25 cents a year ago. Six months net 315,220 or 14 cents a share, down from 949,024 or 42 cents. Production disruptions at the Winston-Salem dyeing and finishing plant weighed on profits, with hosiery and yarn performing near targets. Management aims to fix the Fabrics Division rest of 1974 while preserving margins.
