Receiving Stolen Goods Charged After Break-In at Thomas Variety Store
A man identified as an escapee from the state prison system remains jailed in High Point after being charged with receiving stolen goods stemming from Wednesday morning break‑in at Thomas Variety Store on W Green Drive. Police recovered a large amount of stolen property and linked the suspect to the crime. A separate rash of thefts includes a $212 dishwasher, a $27 medicine cabinet, carpet, two watches, and an office machine reported at Granville Bonded Warehouse and Londonderry Estates. Police also note other incidents and a DUI arrest, while Greensboro building permits for December totaled $2,076,510 with 23 new houses and 14 nonresidential structures approved.
