Federal controls placed on methaqualone about a month ago sharply reduced student drug incidents in High Point schools. Principals report a previous rise last fall due to stolen and home-sourced supplies, with fewer than a dozen students suspected of drug influence this year.
High Point City Council will discuss future regional sewerage plans after a Piedmont Triad Council of Governments conference involving High Point, Davidson County, Thomasville, Archdale, Jamestown, Guilford and Randolph counties.
