Gasoline electric car tested on Hummelstown line
A new 34 by 8 foot single truck gasoline electric car, built by Barber Car Co of York, is being trialed on the Hummelstown and Campbelltown route. It uses a 54 horsepower gasoline engine with a 30 kilowatt generator, two 25 horsepower motors, and seating for forty. Trials began in Hershey after arrival from York, with potential expansion to a Lebanon line if successful.
