A Monday evening social at the Y M C A gym in Hershey raises books for the public library. Attendees bring a book to admit entry and enjoy a mock trial with local prominent men as judge and attorneys. The event also features music and is open to the public from Hershey and nearby towns.

Many Improvements in Hershey Park Planned
Hershey Park will undergo extensive enhancements ahead of the season. A new 250 by 100 foot cement swimming pool, a completed bath house, a new Merry-Go-Round building, macadam drive, fast-paced grandstand work, relaid walks, brick gutters, new lights and electric signs, relocated tennis courts, repaired boats, and updated theater cafe and booths showcase the upgrades.

Physical director secured for YWCA at Hershey
Miss Mary G. Burch was secured as physical director for the Hershey YWCA on Wednesday. She comes from Williamsport and formerly taught at Maryland College, Lutherville. She will begin work immediately and push plans for expanding the local association's physical program.

Fire Company Plans Drills And New Equipment
Hershey Volunteer Fire Company holds a well attended meeting at the Hose house to organize drills for apparatus handling. Chief Conrad to set the first drill date as plans include starting a bonfire to simulate real conditions and a connection alarm between Hose house and the factory engineer. M S Hershey will fund new hose and a drying tower to deepen member and citizen interest.

Five seniors will graduate at the Derry township High School exercises on May 17 in Hershey Park Amphitheater. The class will decorate the theater in purple and gold, and each member will present an oration. The evening’s orator is Professor H. H.

Survival of the Fittest topic at Lebanon Valley College
Shenk, dean of Lebanon Valley College, will speak on The Survival of the Fittest. The Hershey Orchestra will provide music. Five class members Esther Moyer, Carrie Dressler, Paul Miller, Conrad Curry, and Elmer Swartz contribute to the program. The class motto is Domat omnia virtus and the flower is magnolia.

Large Storage House For Hershey Store Company
A three story tile storage building is being erected on Chocolate avenue at the west end of Hershey for the Hershey Store Company. The 80 by 80 foot structure will mainly store farm implements and will include an electric elevator.

Roads to Hershey to be Improved
M S Hershey J B Leithiser and H N Herr inspected the road from Bradley quarries to Bindnagles Church and drew up a plan with supervisors to upgrade eight miles of road. Drainage will be added this week, then macadamizing and rolling to make Hershey area roads among the best in the state.
