County weighs six mile Union Deposit to Manada Road upgrade
District supervisors in South and West Hanover petitioned County Commissioners with over two hundred electors to make the Union Deposit to Manada Hill road a state highway. They cite winter impassability and high travel on the route, originally between Elizabethtown and Piketown. Cost estimates run about 12 000 dollars per mile in South Hanover and higher in West Hanover. Commissioners will decide whether to fund full or partial reconstruction, weighing county burden against road needs.
