Linda Burns of the Hershey Community Swim ClubSet a new Middle Atlantic 200 meter breaststroke record with 3 18.3 at the Philadelphia Country Club Invitational. She placed third behind Judy Panneton and Bonnie Boyd whose times did not count for the record. Linda earned a Nationals berth and continues training with coach Kathleen Lewis and her brother Bill Burns.

Neil Flaherty won the July 3 Memorial Field playground checker event, topping a 30 entrant field with Ken Hummer as runner up. The up-to-14 players completed the tournament as Playground Supervisor John Han Shue reported. A shuffleboard event is underway, with an archery set for July 17, a Parade on Wheels July 24, and a hat show July 31.

Hershey Rotary Club marks fifteenth anniversary
Hershey Rotarians and their ladies observed the 15th anniversary of the Hershey Rotary Club with a buffet at Hotel Hershey on June 30. Charter members honored included 29 founders and 17 still on the rolls, with five reaching 15 years of perfect attendance.
