Local awards plan honors twelve graduates with scholarships
Hershey Foremen's Club awards total twelve graduates since 1955. Four Hershey Junior College alumni received the 125 dollar scholarships for scholastic achievement and leadership. Eight high school seniors from Hershey Milton Hershey School Hummelstown and Palmyra have received 25 dollar awards at commencement for scholastic achievement and service. Robert H. Schock has chaired the committee since the start.

Upset Marks Hershey Employees Golf Tourney
In the Hershey Employees Golf Tourney at Park Golf Club last week No. 3 team led by Pete Gasper beat No. 2 team captained by Octavio Lalli 146-139. The No. 5 team led by Dino DiClemente defeated Art Garrison's No. 1 team 156-131, securing the season title with a fourth straight win. A fifth match is set for July 28 to August 2 at Park Golf Club with 1-6 2-4 3-5. A handicapped tournament follows August 12 at Hershey Country Club using scores from Park matches. Art Garrison shot a two-over par 73 in last week's play.

Playground Special Activities Schedule at Memorial Field
Derry Township School District announces a calendar of events at Memorial Field playground. Staffing includes Supervisor John Hanshue Miss Virginia Straderman Charles Longer and Miss Barbara Jeffries. Events run July 10 shuffleboard July 17 archery July 24 parade on wheels July 31 hat show August 7 doll show August 14 picnic. Arts and crafts run daily 10 30 to noon for ages 7 8 9 and 10 30 to 3 30 for ages 10 up. Archery classes daily 10 45 for younger group and 2 p m for older group.

Hershey's retired employees plan a July picnic Monday July 7 in Hershey Park rear Sports Arena pavilion. William Seltzer said Rev. Harvey Light will speak with Melvin Deets string ensemble and group singing. Aaron Gerlach to read scripture. Refreshments by ladies. 65 to 100 years old welcome. Committee includes Irvin Spancake Edward Miller Roy Sternberger.
