Selee Acquisition Aims to Speed Production in Tennessee Area
Selee Corporation bought Fiber Ceramics, a Cincinnati firm, to cut furnace firing from 44 hours to four, enabling faster manufacturing and freeing space for a growing product line. Fiber Ceramics employs six and generates about 1 million dollars in annual revenue. Selee will keep Cincinnati operations until permits for a move to Shepherd Street are granted, then relocate equipment to Hendersonville. The merger does not plan new jobs at Hendersonville. United Way of Henderson County adds two staff, Sarah Kowalak returns as director of community impact, and Tana Black joins as marketing and communications coordinator. Kowalak previously served 2007 through 2013 as marketing coordinator, then community relations director at The Free Clinics. Black previously freelanced for Asheville Citizen-Times and worked in mortgage industry roles.
