State aid plan would boost Rocky Hill and Harper schools
Governor Dolph Briscoe emails to The Radio Post and Harper Herald outline proposed state aid increases for Rocky Hill Common School District from 18000 to 29000 and Harper Independent School District from 127000 to 294000, with no boosts for Stonewall Doss or Fredericksburg. He argues aid should equalize tax effort and warns of court-ordered solutions if legislative action is delayed. The piece also notes a 1955 Harper High School class reunion set for May 24 at Fredericksburg’s Lady Bird Johnson Park.
