The Forty fourth Texas Pecan Growers Association plans a July 14 16 meeting at Green Oaks Inn Fort Worth with a large program including a Texas State Pecan Show a Leonard Bend Orchard tour and demonstrations of irrigation pesticide practices and equipment. Approximately 25 commercial displays and 75 pieces of equipment will be shown along with a ladies luncheon at Neiman Marcus and a Kimbell Art Museum tour. Reservations advised for bus transport meals and rooms with rates listed.
Gillespie County stands as the third leading turkey producer in Texas for 1974, accounting for 723000 birds or 8.2 percent of the state's 8780000 turkeys. The year saw a statewide drop in turkeys and prices, with a $16 million loss to poultry farmers, amid higher costs and weak demand.

He noted progress toward leukemia cure, stressed early detection, and cited planning for future education and treatment support.
