Metzger Initiative Seeds Land for Livestock and Wildlife

Minimum Statewide Standards For Ambulance Service

Senator Jack Ogg of Houston pushed a bill establishing minimum statewide standards for ambulance services and personnel. The measure would require a 120 hour first aid course, train attendants via the Health Department, and let local areas opt out. The bill sets equipment and design rules, aims for uniform statewide practices, and moves ambulance work toward a professional standard.

Krueger Sees Better Chance for Predator Control

Congressman Bob Krueger told Texas Sheep and Goat Raisers Association members in Fredericksburg he now sees improved prospects for predator control legislation. He praised Ford administration actions, discussed energy and debt concerns, and outlined his office access in New Braunfels San Angelo Del Rio and San Antonio with a toll free line for constituents. He urged wool and mohair stakeholders to submit input and promised to push meat import standards, cattle sheep and goat research funding, and realistic government spending.
