Alpha Omicron Pi led the college with the highest scholarship average in winter and spring terms, moving ahead of defending champ Phi Mu. Among men, the Phi Delts won the trophy again, while the Phi Gams surpassed the Betas for second place.

Ball Point Prerequisite For All Fall Courses
Registration for all students takes place today in Long Gymnasium. Registrar Robert McClew warns that no student will be admitted without a ball point pen. Students with no changes report at set times. those with changes report later slots. Only students cleared by the business office may register. check with the administration office if in doubt.

New Schedule Ends Free Assembly Hour
A new school timetable replaces the free assembly hour with a weekly fourth period assembly on Mondays and a weekly Thursday chapel in the third period. The day will have nine periods from 7:40 AM to 4:30 PM with lunch during the fifth and sixth periods. No classes after the fourth period on Saturdays.
Juniors Abroad End and Begin at Hanover Campus
Hanover College announces changes as sophomores welcome new faces while seven juniors depart for abroad programs. Blanning notes the entering class shows strong preparation with 87 percent having three or more years of mathematics 79 percent in science and 62 percent in a foreign language. He cites CEET scores and class rank differences by gender and reports geographic distribution 51 percent from Indiana 21 percent from other Midwest states 18 percent from the East and 10 percent from the South and West.

Hanover Library Offers Two Publications for Request
The Hanover library desk lists two publications HILLTHOUGHTS and REVONAH. HILLTHOUGHTS, a yearly literary magazine, is free and last year’s editor was Diana Seifert now a UT graduate assistant. REVONAH, Hanover’s yearbook, ships to upperclassmen yearly. this year’s editor is Bart Luedeke. Freshmen may inquire at the library desk for REVONAH purchases.
