Manitoba Chamber completes Churchill port fact finding
The Manitoba Chamber of Commerce completed a two day fact finding mission on the Port of Churchill grain handling feasibility. Meetings with Churchill officials and local groups revealed empty railway boxcars and underutilization of Churchill, with potential savings and faster grain shipments if the Wheat Board allocates more grain to the port. The group will pursue coordinated provincial federal and CNR actions to fully use Churchill as a western Canada seaport.
