Vera Jones 48 Died at University Hospitals Iowa City
Mrs Vera Helen Jones aged 48 of Marble Rock died Sunday at University Hospitals Iowa City after a two day stay. Born March 15 1917 in Knox ville she was the daughter of John Robert and Marcie Wright. She lived in Marble Rock twenty years and is survived by husband Robert and her parents. Funeral service Wednesday at Reid Funeral Home Marble Rock with Rev Byron Ayers officiating. Burial in Hill Side Cemetery.

Missionary Circle Meets at Ott Home
The Women's Missionary Circle of Bethel Baptist Church met at Mrs. Esther Ott's home on Thursday afternoon. They spent the time making bandages for the White Cross Missionary Quota to be sent to South India. Lion's Club Meeting Highlighted Europe Trip
The Marble Rock Lion's Club met at the Lutheran Church basement Thursday evening with Women of the Church serving dinner. Guest Roger Borchard shared details of his summer Europe trip with a Midwest group of 25, using three rented Volkswagens. The seven member party visited Germany Austria Yugoslavia Bulgaria Turkey Greece Syria Lebanon and Jordan, then returned by plane to the United States and attended the World's Fair in New York before homeward travel.

Marble Rock residents Walter Marsh and Dixon Marsh joined guests at the DeKalb Seed Corn Company Field Day at the DeKalb Research Farm near Dayton.
