Soviet Plan for Moon Trip One Day Space Ship Travel
Professor V V Dobronarov writes in a Soviet publication that ships will travel to the moon in one day at about 6.8 miles per second, with initial unmanned flights and later crewed missions. He envisions Mars trips by century's end using solar gravity, with orbital stations lasting years and ships weighing 1700 tons and aiming for 236 days to Mars plus 440 days waiting for earth communications. The piece argues the U S must boost long range missile efforts to avoid being left behind.
