Mrs. Leon Marsh hosted Marble Rock Garden Club with a 1:30 dessert luncheon. President Mrs. James Overby led roll call and meeting while members discussed hobbies and book reviews.
Mrs. Walter Marsh hosted a morning coffee at her home to honor Mrs. Paul Shupe of Huntsville Virginia visiting her daughter Mrs. Don Marsh and family. Guests included Mrs Cecil Swant, Mrs. Dixon Marsh and Valerie, Mrs. Roger Staudt and Jeffrey, Mrs. Willard Marsh and Pearl Knoop.
The Scott Hustlerettes 4-H Club served lunch at Chuck Coyle's sale on Saturday October 5 and met at Carolyn Maupin's home. Officers were elected: Maupin president, Latch VP, Frascht secretary, Litterer treasurer, Parcher historian, Jeffry photographer, Latch music chair, Abell reporter, Frascht library chair. They planned a clothing drive for a charity and celebrated 16th anniversary with a library donation and an indoor weiner roast plus skating.

Bethel Baptist Church hosted its monthly fellowship supper Tuesday evening followed by the third quarterly business meeting. Vice-moderator Cleland Maxson led the proceedings after the pot luck meal.
Mrs Art Asmussen hosted the Wednesday Bridge Club with guests Mrs Leon Marsh Mrs Edward Merfeld and Mrs Weldon Salt. After a one o'clock luncheon the high score at the bridge tables went to Mrs Marcus Staudt with second to Mrs Walter Bohl.
Marble Rock residents shared meals with relatives in Charles City Mason City and Dows during the weekend. A Lauterbach family gathering included many relatives from Parker South Dakota and Iowa towns. The Lions Club met at Town Hall with a Groucho Marx quiz led by Kenneth Bucklen and guests Harry Pierce. Upcoming Marble Rock Study Club meeting titled Hat Bonanza will be held October 14 at Town Hall with refreshments for the public.
