Aredale News Auxiliary Met At Worley Residence
The American Legion Auxiliary held its November 8 meeting at the Carl Worley home with a potluck. A hospital gift list for Veterans at Iowa City was discussed and items to be purchased by Mrs. Ben Stubbe. Plans included sending boxes to servicemen and December bring-by candy or cookies. Cash donations will aid overseas service members. The next meeting is December 13 at the Carl Corporan home with a 6:30 p.m. potluck. Butter-Nut Coffee strips must be submitted to the Aredale General Store by December 15 to fund toys for needy children. In hospital news, former Aredale resident Andy Etzen, of Marble Rock, is hospitalized a Floyd County Memorial Hospital. His parents and relatives visited Sunday.

Home Study Club Meeting at Mrs Long’s Home
The Home Study Club gathered November 8 at Mrs. Robert Long’s home with Mrs. Preston White assisting. Nine members and two guests attended. After the business session, greeting cards were written for servicemen, Thanksgiving boxes packed for the boys and a grandson in service, and lunch was served.

Aredale locals report a series of weekend visits and meals. Andy and Mrs. Weiss of Roach Missouri joined W H Howe for supper. Harvey Etzens were honored at John Etzen home. Seibert Arends and Gene Brass families of Hampton attended. Other trips included Zimmerman family in Rochester Minnesota and Montandon funeral attendance in Sheffield. Additional visits came from Cedar Falls, Jesup, Harsen's Island Michigan, Austin Minnesota, Dumont and area residents.
