Jerry D. Hubbard, 19, of Marble Rock, promoted to Private First Class at Fort Campbell Kentucky. He serves as a file clerk in the Post Locator Office with the 101st Airborne Division after basic training at Fort Riley Kansas. A 1959 Marble Rock High School graduate he attended Mason City Junior College and worked for R M Wilson Construction in Guttenburg before enlisting in December 1960.

Mrs Fred Hansen received injuries in a two car crash four miles west of Marble Rock and was taken to Cedar Valley Hospital in Charles City after a Thursday 4:30 p.m. collision. The other driver Jack Gansen suffered cuts and bruises but was not hospitalized.
