Marble Rock Study Club hosts cerebral palsy film event

Mrs. Walter Flesher hosted the Marble Rock Study Club with a 7:30 dessert luncheon. Mrs. Paul C. Miller of Charles City presented the film 53 Minutes to Go on cerebral palsy, followed by a discussion. Election changes for open membership were approved, and Education Week was announced for November 11 to 16. Several local families and visitors are noted through the weekend with wide community activity in Swaledale and surrounding towns.

Ronald Gates Honored By Air Force

Airman 3/c Ronald Gates, son of the Charles Gates of Nashua and Marble Rock connections, received a diploma and a congratulatory letter from Col. Hugh Mahoney after technical school at Amarillo AFB Texas. He now serves with the 57th Fighter Interceptor Squadron at Minot AFB North Dakota.

Bethel Baptist Mission Circle Meets for White Cross Aid

Mrs. Dixon Marsh hosted Bethel Baptist Church Mission Circle on Thursday. Members prepared White Cross Hospital supplies and noted a $20 contribution toward a loom for Catherine Millis Rehabilitation Center where Jerry Adams works as a Peace Corps volunteer. He reported trips to the Bush for materials and three Native Craftsmen coming twice weekly to teach craft to patients.
