Iva Poole 50 died Saturday after a heart attack at Cedar Valley Hospital Charles City. She born June 5 1913 Greene Iowa attended Greene Public School Beautician School in Chicago. She operated Jia's Beauty Shop Greene since 1937. Survived by siblings nieces nephews in laws and husband died eight days earlier. Funeral at St Peters Lutheran Church with Rev J J Devies. Burial Rose Hall Cemetery Williams Mortuary in charge.

Butler County ASCS Announces $562 Cost Sharing Balance

The Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service office in Allison reports a remaining $562.00 available for cost sharing as of November 15. Through the year, requests total $50,000. $54,782.12 has been earned, with $25,489.00 paid and further funds pending state office allocation. Sealing of 1963 corn and soybeans is underway at $1.00 per bushel for corn and $2.22 per bushel for soybeans, with farm-stored grain sealed if stored in a tin ten days prior to sampling.

Four Pay Fines In District Court

Four men appeared in District Court on Tuesday and Wednesday, November 12 and 18, pleading guilty to charges. Albert Hants of Cedar Falls and Richard Roberts of Des Moines admitted to operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, each paying 300 dollars plus costs. James Aswegan of Aplington pleaded guilty to driving with a suspended license and paid 160 dollars plus costs. Dennis Schrage of Clarksville faced larceny of domestic animals, the charge reduced to larceny under 20 dollars. he pleaded guilty to the lesser charge and was fined 100 dollars plus costs. Judge T A Beardmore presided.

Ramblers Open Cage Season Here This Friday Night

The Ramblers, coached by Jerry Fimners, will open their basketball season at home against the Riceville Wildcats this Friday evening. The 22-man squad features Bruce Fischer, Steve Barnett, and John Mead as likely starters, with Ott and Stewart in the other two starting spots. Dorothea Hilka Martzahn 69 of Greene died Sunday November 17 after a lingering illness. Born January 21 1894 in West Point Township near Allison she married Emil Martzahn and had a son and daughter. Public School Bequest From Former Teacher

The Greene Public Schools received a 1000 dollar bequest from the Lena K. Hecker estate. The Board will invest the funds and use the income to buy current magazines chosen by the superintendent and the current events teacher. Mrs. Hecker, former high school principal and history teacher (1922 to 1927), was fond of newspapers and The Literary Digest.

Former Resident Died In Minnesota Airs

Coleen Estrem aged 7 died in Kenyon Minnesota on October 21. She was a daughter of Virgil and Mrs. Jacobson who lived in Greene for years. She married Harlan M. Estrem on September 12 1954 at Tripoli. Survivors include the husband four young children the youngest six months old her parents of Kenyon and a brother James Lee.

Heart Attack Fatal for Erwin Klingbeil Publisher

Erwin Louis Klingbeil editor of the Allison Tribune for fourteen years died at his Allison home on Sunday morning November 17. Born December 28, 1904 in Monroe Wisconsin, he married Grace Newman in 1932 and they lived in Postville before purchasing the Allison Tribune in 1949. Survivors include his wife two sons Richard and Jerry two grandsons four brothers and three sisters. Funeral Tuesday at 2 PM at the United Church of Christ in Allison with burial in Allison Cemetery.
