Bruce Marsh arrived home Saturday with his wife and son Steven after four years in the Navy. He sustained a broken right leg just below the hip while stationed in the Philippines and had been in Oakland hospital since May. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Marsh.
A two way intercom links Greene Elementary School to the Dr J T Truitt home under Butler Bremer County schools. Nine year old Raymond Truitt, a fourth grader, has been isolated at home for seventeen weeks due to rheumatic fever and chorea. The device lets him hear teacher Mrs Harold Shultz and converse with her and classmates.
William Tailey of Greene has been elected president of the student chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers at New Mexico State University in University Park New Mexico. He is a senior majoring in civil engineering. The ASCE chapter, with about 50 members, holds bi monthly meetings featuring a field trip or guest lecturer.

Mrs. Chase is formerly Mary Peck daughter of Dr. and Mrs. P C Deer.
The Greene Rambler will be honored at a football banquet sponsored by the Quarterback Club on November 13 at the high school auditorium. Guest speaker Art Lundblad of Mason City Junior College Trojans, 24 wins 8 losses 3 ties in five years, undefeated this year and ranked third nationally. Trappers prepare for the season opening as the State Conservation Committee sets November 9 as the start for trapping on state and federal refuges. Quotas are determined by the Conservation Commission and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Permits for state areas are available from the Commission. federal area permits come from refuge offices. The federal season opens November 18 with the same closing dates as the rest of the state.
Greene Fire Department responded around 10 45 am Saturday to a vehicle fire on a bearing near the rear wheel owned by Roy Steelman of Rockford. The location was about two miles south of Greene on Highway 14.
