Proposed Courthouse Cost Under One Mill
A. C. Tackman, chairman of the Board of Supervisors, says current estimates place the new Butler County Courthouse cost under one mill for the tax levy. He notes a bond authorization up to 350000 dollars and a levy not exceeding one mill to pay the bonds, with likely actual needs lower and the levy possibly only seven eighths of a mill over twenty years. He adds that county reorganization talk is old and likely distant, and if built now in Allison it would secure Allison as a county seat and preserve county identity.
