February wedding announced for Susan Roose and Douglas March. Susan Roose of Rstow works at Hollywood Beauty Shop in Mason City. Douglas March is the son of Mr and Mrs Kalpn Mursn of Greene and is in the Navy, recently at Midway Island and bound for Japan. Wedding set for February 7.
Sara Jane Green daughter of Mr and Mrs Harr Green and Gary Willan Rettler son of Mr and Mrs Vernon Rettler were married Saturday morning January 9 at Saint Thomas Aquinas Church Ames. Officiant Rev Joseph G Heimeman. Bride wore sand white dress with brown accessories and deep red roses. Groom and wedding party wore coordinated aqua and cocoa colors. Both plan to continue college study at Iowa State University and Clarke College in Dubuque with the couple home in Ames.
Mr and Mrs Clar Scott announce the marriage of their daughter Pency to Donald F Butzlaff son of Mr and Mrs Darrell Butzlaff. The ceremony took place January 15 at Zion Lutheran Church West Union officiated by Rev Paul Meyer. The couple reside at Nora Grand Avenue 17 Charles City.
The Girl Scout Neighborhood meeting will be held at the Youth Center on January 28 at 2 00 pm with a film showing and planning for upcoming events. AI leaders and troop committee members should attend with calendars and money. WSSC meets February 4 at 1 30 pm at Mrs Lyle Barnett’s home. Catherine's Circle meets February 2 at 2 00 pm with Mrs Emil Ruvicha. members should bring a contribution.

A March wedding is planned for Elma Beck of Waterloo and Don Chieman of Greene Mires Beck. Beck is daughter of Mrs Lowie Beck of New Hampton and the late Roy Beck, employed as a mat clerk at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. Chieman, son of Mr and Mrs Inaun Clieman, is a farmer of Greere. The wedding will be at Trinity Lutheran Church in New Hempston. An auction and other notes appear, alongside club meeting reminders.
Miss Lindi Lea Smith wed William F. Hodge in a double ring ceremony at the Brethren Church in Greene. The bride wore nylon chiffon over satin with lace and crystal accents and carried a white orchid bouquet. her attendants included Miss J. Grahlman. The groom is the son of Mrs Edra Hodge Ruddana and the couple planned to live near Charles City after graduating from Rudd Rockford Marble Rock high school.
Glen E McClellan, Des Moines State Sales Manager for American Republic Insurance Co, visits Greene this week to arrange for representatives. Next week the team will seek local residents to explain American Republic protection plans and the company’s nationwide presence and standards.
