Plan All-Out Heart Fund Drive in Marble Rock
An all-out drive for the Heart Fund runs February 22 to 28 in Marble Rock to honor Dr Wentworth with the slogan The more you give the more will live. Local workers will visit each family to collect contributions and proceeds go to Heart Research in Dr Wentworth’s name. Contributions from outside Marble Rock may be left at First Security Bank or sent to Mrs Arnold Haller.

Marble Rock and surrounding areas saw numerous social visits last weekend. Ernest Campbell and family joined Alan Merfeld for a birthday celebration at the Merfeld home. Jim McNeilus and family visited Bristow and Allison hosts hosted guests, including Harlan and Marcia, Charles Kruse, and the Swants for birthdays and hospitality. Nancy Stover, now Mrs Charles Wolters of Mason City, was honored at a bridal shower in Cartersville. John Staudt placed second in a District Legion High School Oratorical Contest at New Hampton. Emma Bass of Rudd visited Ilo Bass. Bull Fluhrer and family from Charles City attended meals with Walter Marsh family, and Fannie Dralle of Greene hosted Thursday visitors.

Leaders Attend District 4-H Camp at State Camp near Madrid
Floyd County 4-H leaders joined a two day district leadership training February 21 to 23 at the State 4-H Camp near Madrid. About 2 to 4 leaders from seven NAD area counties were expected to participate. Floyd County attendees included Mrs Don Yount Nora Springs and Mrs Ad Dolan Marble Rock. Discussions covered leadership and 4-H purposes, club member interests, organizational issues and the future 4-H program. leaders will observe, exchange ideas, and tour camp facilities.
