Red Cross Drive reports largest gifts in decade
June drive totals around 116 million dollars marked the costliest disaster year in Red Cross history due to floods on both coasts. Butler County Chapter backed Christmas on the High Seas and considers a Junior Red Cross, with home nursing classes planned and a Mother and Baby Care course likely in 1957. A first aid station operated at the Centennial Fair, water safety program taught children, and home service aid to servicemen, veterans, and dependents continued. Red Cross volunteers will solicit funds after March 1.
