Ed fleitland and Glen Skillen attended training sessions at Farmland Industries School in Kansas City Missouri from December 9. Ed took the fertilizer school while Glen joined the feed school. Farmland Industries sponsors these courses for local cooperatives serving nearly 2000 Midwest members including Farmers Inc Co op Society.

State AG sues eight plumbers for price fixing
Iowa Attorney General Richard C. Turner files suit in Des Moines federal court naming eight plumbing manufacturers and a trade association for an unlawful combination to fix prices on enameled cast iron and vitreous china fixtures in violation of the Sherman Act. The executive council also authorizes hiring a New York firm to represent Iowa in a price fixing case against five drug companies with an agreed contingent fee plan.

Iowa State Fair profits decline amid sales tax shift
Kenneth R. Falk, State Fair Board Secretary, reports the Iowa State Fair earned a profit of 25,917 this year versus 174,189 last year. The drop stems from 13,769 of 1967 state sales tax paid in 1968 and 19,458 of the 1968 tax paid this year, following a 1967 law requiring tax on admissions.
