Floyd County Fair 4-H and FFA animals sold on Thursday at the Floyd County Fairgrounds with total proceeds of 33,719.08 for beef swine sheep and small animals. Top sale hog owned by Becky Mitchell brought 65 per hundredweight to buyer Gary Bernau of Charles City. Average 58.85 per cwt, 214 pounds, 130.44 per head from 77 head. hogs largely purchased by local lockers. Total hog value 90,002.06. Lambs minimal with 16 head. Calf weight and total value listed. Auctioneers Chuck Thorson Doug Merfeld Clarence Meyer Clarence Clerks Les Ausen Dr. John Hitzhusen Virgil Jacobson. Exhibits chosen for North Iowa and State Fairs. Beef division results include Handy Peters and Jeff Wilkinson in junior and senior showmanship respectively, with Country Queens leading group of three teams.
