The two current incumbents for Director Districts 2 and 4 on the Joint Co Board of Education filed reelection papers for the September 11 election. No other nomination papers were submitted. Edwin Waltemate seeks District 4 seat and Burton Sprole seeks District 2 seat. Waltemate has chaired both boards and is mayor of Plainfield. Funeral services for Gloria Jean Arends Cunningham, 25, of Waterloo, will be Thursday August 9 at 1 p.m. at Bethel United Presbyterian Church Waterloo. She died in a car crash Monday near Allison. She was born November 13, 1947 in Hampton, daughter of M and M Siebert Arends, and married Steven Cunningham on September 4, 1965 in Dumont. Survivors include husband Steven and Wendy, her parents, one brother Virgil, and her maternal grandfather John Etzen. Burial at Dumont Cemetery.
