Marble Rock Youths Engage in Summer Sports Drills
Marble Rock youths joined baseball tennis golf and swimming under director John Byers at the summer recreation program. About 24 played tennis with 110 swimming participants, 116 children took Red Cross lessons to Charles City, and 18 youths weekly traveled to Rockford for golf. Babe Ruth team won 9-8 over Rockford in a July playoff before losing to Greene.

Scout Camp Earns Excellent A-100 Rating Again
The Winnebago Boy Scout camp at Marble Rock earned the A-100 rating for the second consecutive year after a July 9 inspection. Camp director Cantheren Walker notes the rarity of repeat honors, citing seven areas of excellence including camp descriptions operations and health.
