Mr. and Mrs. John Menken of Aredale celebrated their 40th anniversary with a morning church service attended by their children James Greene Donald Elkader Gordon Cedar Rapids Francis Mason City Carolyn Greene Evelyn Havig Dumont Martin Mason City and Douglas at home plus families. A Corner House dinner followed with cake and coffee as relatives gathered in the Jim Menken home in the afternoon. The couple wed April 8 1936 in Greene.
