Unitarian Society Votes to Close Option on Camfield Property
The Unitarian society voted 30 to 4 Friday to exercise the option and buy the Camfield property at Ninth Street and Tenth Avenue. The group expects at least $10,000 gain from rising property values within ninety days as downtown activity increases. The purchase includes a residence on the 125 by 190 foot lot for $20,000 and calls for selling 50 feet to the county for $146,000 while possibly relocating the society to the rear section fronting the avenue. The old building will be sold after arrangements for a new edifice are fixed, with four parties pursuing the old church property.
