Breckenridge, Oct. 12 Congressman W Rucker of the first district was injured while visiting Mindanao aboard a small lake boat. A sudden gust caused the sail to veer and strike him on the skull. He was rushed ashore and taken to a British hospital where an operation was performed. He is reported resting easily and under care by doctors.

Fire in Windsor school building causes temporary displacement
Special to the Daily Tribune Windsor Oct 12 a stove overheated in the Opera House temporary quarters for seventh and eighth graders sparked a fire. Damage was small but the building could not be used this week. Pupils moved to the third grade room and basement as construction continues.

Normal Trustees Discuss School Building Plans
State trustees of the Normal opened the school year with routine business and plans for a new training school building by Barber of Colorado Springs. Changes to the plans were outlined and a special meeting will be called next month to accept them. The foundation contract may be let before plan approval to save construction time. Present were Mrs. Katherine Cook and Mrs. T. A. Rhode of Denver along with Mr. Welsh of Delta and Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Thatcher of Denver.

2000 Railroad Ties Spark Damages Suit
The Warren Live Stock company files a damage suit in county court alleging D. Mantey stole 2000 railroad ties from the Union Pacific line between Carr and Cheyenne. The petition says the ties, purchased July 29, 1909, were owned by the company and Mantey tore up the railroad bed for fuel and to build sheep pens. The case is described as unusual.
