The Oasis ranch, about seven miles east of Grover, comprises 2,400 tires with half irrigated, valued at 46 000 if weather cooperates. Henry Thompson, manager, says Beon refused 107 000 for the property, noting no potato bugs or grasshoppers this year and higher labor costs than in Greeley.
A resident on Mose Stowe remains locked out and in summer attire during a quarantine period. The sole communication method has been the telephone for ten days as a child who died of diphtheria a week ago is now well, but the family delays reentry for three weeks, risking further exposure.

The Maccabee guards plan a Calico Social Thursday evening at the L O C FP hall. Ladies should wear Calico dresses and bring Calico neckties for husbands and sweethearts. W.F. cards promised as the evening’s amusement. Visiting Maccabee members invited.
The Neill Furniture window shows watercolors by Mrs Ernesti and works by Professor Ernesti and wife. Most pieces are Mrs Ernesti's, with two by G M Houston. The display features Middle West timber scenes, violets, and Indian-life paintings created from life. Houston also contributes notable pictures.
Sam Woland resigns after two years as deputy sheriff. Sheriff France names H. L. Frazer to fill the vacancy. Woland plans to return to business in Ault. Charles Peterson remains a deputy. the office has two paid deputies and civil work keeps them busy as the sheriff eyes possible addition. The office earned four thousand dollars over expenses last year and expects to double this year.
Farmers store produce amid looming car shortage as freight empties and refrigerators vanish. A Western slope refrigerator purge drains yards, leaving merchants unable to ship fruit and spuds. A Lucerne delivery mixed hay and potatoes as local cars remain scarce.
A Commercial Club meeting last night considered forming a charitable association and limiting club social events to focus on the Winter program. Rev Lace and Rev Doane weighed in on the plan and a vote is set for November 15 at the next monthly meeting.

Prof P R Pickruhl a renowned musician from New York City says Greeley surpasses all places visited and plans to settle there He led Plekruhi College of Music in Greater New York for eighteen years and has now opened a music school at 806 Ninth Street in Greeley.
Attorneys Kelly and Ewing reach a settlement with Union Pacific in a condemnation case involving the Gearey estate. The new owner has purchased the property and will cover moving costs and related expenses.
Delaware County Elks lodge and county commissioners clash over a fifty foot Camfield corner option and property exchange. Elks propose an equal base trade or partial transfer with compensation, while county seeks a fair value split and driveway access before the option expires.
In Johnstown on October 26 Fred Peil stabbed his companion George Kerber during a conflict over keg payment. Kerber lies injured in a Longmont hospital while Peil faces possible murder charges.

The Denver Laramie Realty Company organized to take over Northwestern Land and Townsite assets and irrigation projects and market them. Officers include W E Skinner president W A Harris vice president Clarence J Wright secretary A J Spengel treasurer and John D Milliken general counsel, all from the Denver Laramie. The new firm will act as a subsidiary and take over agency duties for the parent company.
