A stag dinner was held Thursday at Mr. and Mrs. D. M. Faris home in honor of Finley Faris who arrived from Sparta and will be wed next week. Fourteen guests attended a turkey dinner with Clarence E. Short as toastmaster. Toasts were given by several guests and all enjoyed a jovial evening.

Special to the Daily Tribune Denver Jan. 22 the legislature formed a joint committee of both houses to investigate alleged election frauds in Las Animas county. Members named were Henry Cassiday Rodney J Bardwell D W Strickland Chas W Ballard and Jos Heard Senator Croke proposed a bill to redraw northern Colorado judicial districts moving part of the eighth to the first district including Jeffer son and Clear Creek and removing Greeley Collins and Boulder to relieve overcrowded judges.
Special to the Daily Tribune Denver January 22 reports Colorado & Southern, recently acquired by Burlington, will operate as an independent system with Denver as headquarters. A Burlington delegation surveys the property while President Trumbull retires for a three month Egypt stint and plans to return to Colorado with several offers on the table.
Trinidad Colorado reports Policeman Brighton died from gunshot injuries after being shot while suppressing a disturbance in a West Trinidad dive. His wife gave birth to a baby girl as he lay dying. The Italian suspect Guiseppe Ciocatto was killed by the officer during the confrontation.
Stockholders of the Home Electric company have spent two days planning a reorganization. Capital stock will be increased to $200,000 as new officers prepare the articles of incorporation in Denver.

The Latter Day Saints elders will hold service at 2:00 PM in the I B A hall. Trinity German Lutheran and First Christian Church list sermons, Sunday schools, and quarterly or evening meetings. Congregational Church features Rally Day activities, organ pieces, and multiple addresses by Karl Lehmann and others. John Doane is the minister.
