Miss Josephine Morvis of Cypress street suffered a badly sprained ankle while roller skating on South Elmwood avenue Tuesday. Her foot slipped causing the toe of one skate to catch, throwing the foot to one side. She was taken to 207 South Elmwood, where medical help was given and she remains confined. This is Traverse City’s first skating accident since the craze began.

Old Soldier John C Garland Dies at 71
John C Garland aged 71 dies at his Hannah avenue home Tuesday. Survived by a wife four sons and a daughter. Funeral services will be held at the residence Wednesday morning after which burial will occur in Elk Rapids. Mr Garland belonged to the G A R Post in Maine.
