Gasoline Tank Explosion Kills Blacksmith in Rolla
June 2 Rolla North Dakota George Devereaux of McKay Devereaux general blacksmiths was instantly killed when a gasoline line tank he was mending exploded. Canute Lafrance of Maryville township brought the tank to the shop for faucet work. The tank, emptied of its contents, still contained trace gas that caused a fatal blast when heated by a soldering iron. Harry Kyle and C B McKay were lightly injured. Mrs McKay was shocked. The body was taken to the Dixon Brothers undertaking rooms.
