Spring Barbecuers to Set All-Time Cookout Records
Predictions at the Barbecue Briquet Institute and the National Housewares show in Chicago foretell 1969 outdoor barbecuing reaching record levels with 9 to 25 percent higher orders and more covered grill units in fashion colors. Cleanup tips advise washing parts, repainting, oiling hinges, and bacon rind as a nonstick aid. First-time barbecuers should build briquet fires properly, light 30 to 45 minutes ahead, and burn briquets to gray ash before cooking.
