Union Grove student wins 1971 Cook Foundation scholarship
Miss Sarah Rambo, Union Grove senior and valedictorian with a 96.66 average, is the 1971 Cook Foundation scholar, receiving $2,000 over four years for education. She advanced in UIL ready writing, earned “Most Likely to Succeed” and “Most Studious,” and will attend Kilgore College. New Student Council officers were named. Wayne Pope, a 1968 graduate, shared Army service details and a humorous anecdote follows about a tire and a running gag with the local superintendent.
