Death by Own Action Ruled in New Mexico Man’s Death
Justice of the Peace George L. Smith ruled death by own action in the case of Reiley Cooper Luckie 48 of Eunice New Mexico. Luckie died from a gunshot wound at Jaycee Park Lake Gladewater Sunday night around 9 56 p m. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Luckie’s body was sent to Sonora New Mexico for burial. Arrangements in Gladewater were by Malcolm Stone Funeral Home. He was a WWII naval veteran born in Sutton County Texas and survived by wife Irma and his parents.

Auto-Cycle Crash Injures Gladewater Man in Shreveport Hospital
Donald Earl Porter 31 is in serious condition after a motorcycle auto crash early Sunday. He suffered broken ribs a punctured lung and internal injuries after his Yamaha struck near the Gregg Smith county line. Passenger Jimmy Stevenson had minor bruises. Cathrin Margaret Talton 1965 Ford driver was charged with driving while intoxicated. Porter was cited for parking on the roadway. Highway Patrolmen Ellis and Burdette reported the car skidded after applying brakes.
